COLLEGE PARK The University of Maryland, College Park witnessed an 8.7 percent increase in minority enrollment this fall, according to the Office of University Relations. Self-reported student data shows that minority enrollment noticeably increased this fall, but the overall campus enrollment only grew less than 1 percent. The increase in minority students is a gratifying sight for the many students, faculty and administrators who have worked for it, university president Wallace Loh said. We still have more to do. This is only the beginning. Listed are the figures released by the Office of University Relations: Enrollment of American Indian students increased by 22 percent Enrollment of Asian students increased by 7 percent Enrollment of Hispanic students increased by 6 percent Enrollment of black students increased by 5 percent
