    Duringeachscienceunit,Iparticipateinseverallabs.Thelabsallowmetoexplorewhatwe
    arelearninginahandsonway.

    Inordertorunalabsafelyandeffectively,thereisacertainprotocolthatIhavetofollow.Iwill
    outlinethestepsbelow.

    First,IreadoverthelabprocedurethatMrs.Fourniergivesmygroupatthebeginningof
    everylab.Then,aftereveryoneinthegrouphashadachancetoreadovertheprocedure,we
    discusswhatwearesupposedtodo.Itsreallyimportantthatwedothissothatthelabis
    conductedaccuratelyandsafely.

    Next,wedecidewhowillcompleteeachstepintheprocedure.Forexample,wehavea
    facilitator.Thispersonisresponsibleforreadingthestepsoftheprocedureandmakingsure
    thatthestepsarebeingfollowedexactlyastheyarewritten.Thereareseveralotherrolesthat
    studentstaketurnscompleting.Iamhappytotellyoumoreaboutthislaterifyoudlike.

    BeforeIbeginalab,Ihypothesizewhatwilltheresult(s)ofthelabwillbe.Then,duringthe
    lab,Icollectdatathatwillhelpmeconcludewhetherornotmyhypothesiswascorrectornot.
    Whenthelabiscompletedandallthedatahasbeencollected,Iamreadytobeginthefinal
    step,whichiswritingthelabreport.Thelabreportisjustanoverviewofthepurpose,
    hypothesis,procedure,results,andconclusion.
