What I did and how I did it:

I logged in to my moodle to see what I have for the week, I downloaded every required
materials textbook and videos. after that, I then scheduled myself for the weekend to
complete my task.

First, I turned to my reading assignment which I was asked to read the following
chapters in the textbook provided

Introduction: Hello, World Below URL

Chapter 1: Boolean Logic (Nisan and Schocken)

Chapter 4: Logic Functions and Gates (Tarnoff)

Chapter 5: Boolean Algebra (Tarnoff)

by reading these chapters, I spent 4 hours on each of the chapters to be able to

understand them better while reading I will give myself a break for 1 hour then resume
again so as to cool my self down. After completing my reading assignment, I then turn
to my discussion assignment which I was asked the following questions

Why do Boolean functions play a central role in hardware architectures?

Describe Composite Gates.

Describe Multiplexors and Demultiplexors? What is the importance of the use of the
selection bit and the data bits?

Use your Schocken Book to identify three Muxes and three Demuxes with brief
descriptions of each.

By answering these questions, I went on the internet do some research also read some
forum discussions, website articles, etc. and they were all helpful and finally, I was able
to answer and submit my discussion assignment.

My reactions towards what I did: I was happy and confident with what I did.

The feedback I received:

at first, was having a little anxiety being afraid of negative feedback but am so
confident of what I did but that is just me naturally, when I submit I will refresh every
hour to see if there is any comment yet and later I had to give myself some break to
cool down then after some time when I checked, the feedback I received was
welcoming was really excited about it and scored an excellent point it really was
encouraging for me.

What I learned:

I learned about how Boolean function work what Boolean function is, composite gate,
what Multiplexors and Demultiplexors are, muxes and demuxes.

What surprised me or caused me to wonder: nothing surprises me or cause me to

wonder

What happened that felt particularly challenging? Why was it challenging to

me?

the only thing that always felt challenging to me is giving and receiving feedback in the
discussion forum assignment and assessing peer’s assignment.

What skills and knowledge do I recognize that I am gaining?: I see am learning

bit by bit of how the computer system works.

What am I realizing about myself as a learner: for me as a learner I realized I am

a fast learner I grasp things easily

In what ways am I able to apply the ideas and concepts gained to my own
experience?

for now, since this is the first week I cannot say for now since the first is just more like
an introduction and I hope in the coming week or before the end of the course, I will be
able to do more work on computer parts.

Finally, describe one important thing that you are thinking about in relation
to the activity.

Most important thing am thinking about this course and which am working toward is
coming out with distinction and am going to achieve it and I also can’t wait to get my
degree.
