Supervises custodial and preventative maintenance services in an assigned geographical


area, which includes 37 school and office sites. Assigns, reviews and coordinates the work
of building operations supervisors, assistant building operations supervisors, building
service workers and others. Performs performance measure reports for school and office
sites. Ensures that work is being performed in accordance with established standards,
procedures and schedules. Meet with school and office administrators and staff regarding
building service issues. Acts as a liaison between facilities management and school and
office administrators. Establishes work schedules. Prioritizes and reviews assignments.
Responds to emergency building events. Supervise substitute workers. Trains and
supervises the training of new and current employees in cleaning methods, the use of
materials, supplies, tools and equipment, and preventative maintenance procedures for
mechanical equipment. Prepares and reviews various documents including payroll reports,
absenteeism records, employee requisitions, action requests, and separation forms.
Reviews and approves requisitions for supplies. Monitors accounts and requests additional
funds when needed. Maintains files and prepares reports. Participates in snow and ice
removal and other weather-related emergency events. Able to preserve confidential and
sensitive information. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with
co-workers, representatives of other agencies and departments, and the public. Ability to
represent the office at meetings. In my area I have helped successfully overseen two new
school building projects, including the new Carver Center for Arts & Technology and Mays
Chapel Elementary, as well as many large scale renovation projects.
