Math Centers in the Classroom

1. Make directions clear and easy to understand for the age level you are
teaching.
2. Make your objectives clear and obtainable for the students.
3. Make sure the activities are for the grade-level you are teaching.
4. In the centers give them different learning styles examples: using
technology, board games, worksheets, mind math, and on-line mathematical
games.
5. Math centers are especially helpful for students struggling with math and
also if you have any English Language Learners in you classroom.
6. Make sure every center, activity, and or game board or on line you can put it
with a common core standard.
7. Make math centers that work with what you are teaching.
8. If you have struggling students pair them with students that can assist, guide,
instruct, and explain the math at the center.
9. Make math centers so it is easily obtainable for you as the teacher to do
proper ASSESMENTS.

10.Remember math centers are designed to keep students ENGAGED and


ENTHUASTIC about learning.
