Accomplishments (Meeting Notes):
1. Leadership Seminar
a. Win either by, scoring faster, or be a strong force to push other robots out of the way
b. Know your competition, what will be the necessary elements (ex. fast scoring vs. strength)
c. Hands-off policy for the captains/teachers
d. No vetoes, make suggestions or show someone why it would or would not work (teaching rather than
just saying no)
e. LOTS of drive practice; scrimmage with the other GCS teams or other teams
f. Ideas: is it viable, how much time will it take to make, do the math before you start to build
g. Make sure everyone has something to do, if someone is not doing anything in a meeting ask them to
leave, they will just distract everyone else
h. Different ideas: multiple teams prototyping different things
i. Ask, even though it may not be their first choice, can they support going in this direction
2. Hosting a Qualifier Seminar
a. Organize volunteers early - 40
b. Spreadsheets
c. Judges
i. Recruit 2-3 more judges than needed
ii. Technical and non-technical judges
iii. Event coordinator should have a student assistant who can do all the running
d. Budgeting
i. $50 per team attending event (covers all costs, not just food)
ii. Provide breakfast, lunch, snacks, and drinks for volunteers --> coffee & chocolate
e. Snack table - get marketing team to come during that day??
