Miss Kozlowskis Sophomore Biology Vision Statement

Throughout the course, students will engage in scientific discovery

through inquiry based learning. It is my goal for students to get in
the mindset of a scientist and question the world around them.
Through inquiry based learning and through investigations carried
out in the course, students will gain problem solving skills,
questioning skills, and investigating skills.
Students will learn in my class from a hands-on approach.
Students will be active participants in class and in scientific
investigations. Through a hands-on approach, students will plan
and carry out their own investigations and will be learning the
concepts in biology through these investigations.
Students will be engaged in their learning through actively
participating in investigations and asking questions. Students will
work in small groups throughout the semester to complete these
investigations and to work with one another on various projects
and assignments. At the end of the school year, students will
engage in a culminating project within these small groups and will
plan and carry out their own investigation based on their own
questions about science and nature. Following this course,
students will know how and be able to use scientific and
engineering practices in their everyday lives.
