Discussion and Conclusion
INTRODUCTION
The concept of disposing of rarte dull cutting by
mean of re-injection down hole has already been
applied successfully by several operators.
Drill cutting re-injection in one of the processes
that developed as an environmentally friendly and
few discharge technology in upstream oil and gas
industry mud and dull cuttings and separated by
circulating the mixture over vibrating sereens
called shale shakers. As the bits turn, it generates
fragments of rock (cuttings) which will be separated
from the mud by shale shakers and it moves the
accumulated cutting over the sereen tapoint for
further treatment or management.
ADVANTAGES
Elimination of water column or sea floor impact
No offsite transportation needed.
Cutting can be injected if pre-treated.
DISADVANTAGES
- Technical Limitation in deep water.
- Mistake in application can lead to depensive clean
cost
- Expensive and labour intensive
POTENTIALS ON NATURAL
RESOURCES, AND MINIZATION
STRATEGIES
Drilling water can have ecosystem, plants
and animals and cause health problems in
humans. Many materials that are released
into reserve mud pits also release drilling
waters into the environment which calls for
public awareness as well. This discharge
can move up to biological chain, eventually
realing humans, where they can cause
chronic and acute ailment.
WASTE MANAGEMENT
Even though the generation of drill cuttings
is a certain in result of drilling, those
wastes can be treated and/or managed in a
number of ways. Assuming chart on

management
options are presented in the figure below.
