--Anadhyayanam originated when Swamy NammAzhwAr's dhivya MangaLa
vigraham was brought from AzhwAr Thirunahari for adhyayana uthsavam at
Srirangam and returned back at the end of this uthsavam, a period of two
months(approximately). Since AzhwAr was away, there was no recitation at
the dhivya dEsam temples and at homes.
There are some people who say that the Anadhyana Kalam commences with
the thirunakshatram of Thirumangai Mannan (Aazhwar) and concludes with
the end of the holy month of Maargazhi. I am in favor of anadhyayana
observance from Thirumangai Mannan's Thirunakshathram to KurEsar's
Thirunakshathram (thai hastham). There may be different observances by
different Matams & SvayamAchAryAs.
As Srimath Azhagiya Singar's Thiruvadi, I follow the Sri Matam
observances in Anadhyayana Kaalam. This is the anusanthAna Kramam at Sri
Matam during Anadhyayana Kaalam:
The observancs are different for the Mornings and the evenings at Sri
