The following plan will be used in our classroom to help students
become responsible for their actions and to help maintain a safe
and positive learning environment.

Be Kind/Use Polite Words
Take Turns/Be Honest
Be Respectful of Others
(Including Teachers and Staff)

Be Respectful to Our School and Others Property

Work Quietly and Play Safely
Help Others/Always Do Your Best
I will be using the green, yellow, and red stoplight system in my classroom. Each
child will begin the day on the green apple. If any negative behavior occurs, the
worm may change to yellow or red. The following consequences for inappropriate
behavior and positive recognition for appropriate behavior will be used:
1st time Verbal warning
2nd time Verbal warning and the student will move his/her worm to yellow.
3rd time Student loses 5 minutes of recess
4th time Student will be given Time Out in a space away from the group
where they will have the time to think about their behavior and decide how
they will correct the inappropriate behavior. After visiting with the
teacher, they will return to class.
5. 5th time If the behavior continues, the student will miss 10 minutes of
recess.
6. 6th time If the behavior is not corrected by this time, the child will move
his/her worm to red, and the parents will be called.
