Emma has worked a different entry-level
position every summer since high school. I will say that having real world job experience really makes the whole Grad School thing seem a lot more appealing. Emma tells us with a laugh, a couple tears and one lengthy groan. Emma credits URI with giving her the skills to work with the diverse cliental that Stop & Shop brings. In my courses we talked about what skills are required to be successful in a global marketplace but I never anticipated that those skills would help me in an actual marketplace. In addition to her theater professors, Emma attributes her impressive communication skills to the generosity of her writing instructors. Although they never taught her to separate fresh from frozen, the esteemed Writing Faculty inadvertently prepared her for this job opportunity. Emma is a girl with planshe feels confident that her parents will allow her to live with them long after graduation. Having established herself as a favorite bagger in her past job, Emma plans on challenging herself by taking on more shifts behind the cash register. When asked about her experienced behind the cash register she says, Uh, yeah, I really like the show extreme couponing but when youre behind the counter its not as entertaining. Expect greatness from this big thinker!
