Clinical Responsibilities:
Each of these hospital facilities I was responsible for obtaining and performing responsibilities as
a nursing student on medical surgical floors, ICU floors, pediatric and OB floors, West Michigan
Heart, neurological and orthopedic floors, mental health, home health and public health
locations. I gave all nursing care under the supervision of an RN by taking care of the patients in
a safe and quality manner. I assessed the patient, passed medications, hung medications,
started IVs, obtained vitals, inserted injections, changed and cleaned wounds and dressings,
helped patients with their daily care such as bathing, showering, walking, making beds and
helping them eat and charting all of this care in the hospital data bases, Cerner.
