aparticularsettingorsituationthatis,takefieldnotes.Next,youinterpretthosenotesaccordingto
relevantcriteria.Finally,youwriteawellorganizedpaperthatpresentsyourobservationsand
interpretations,usuallywiththeaimofansweringaresearchquestion.

Describeactionsandreactionsaspreciselyandliterallyaspossiblewithoutmixinginyourowninterpretation.
Interpretation:Yourgoalisntjusttorecordobservationsinapublicspacebutalsotointerpretthemwith
respecttocommunicationpatternsandprocesses.However,youneedtodifferentiatebetweenyourliteral
descriptionofactions/behavioursandyourinterpretationofthemi.e.firstdescribe,theninterpret.
