- differences between weather and climate
The student is able to:
- explain the differences between weather and climate
- read the value of the air temperature and the amount of precipitation for individual
months of the year from the climatogram
-calculate the average amplitude of air temperature
- calculate the sum of precipitation
-present differences between climate components in different climatic zones
Working methods:
group work

Worksheets (attachment)
Introductory phase:
The teacher performs introductory activities: checks attendance, enters and dictates the
topic of the lesson, informs about the objectives of the lesson.
What is weather?
What are the components of weather?
Asks students to list the weather components while watching the current weather forecast:
WEATHER FORECAST:

While watching the material, students write down the weather components that the
presenter talks about in their notebooks.
When finished, they write on the board together with the teacher:
1. Air temperature [°C, °F]
2. Amount and quality of precipitation [mm]
3. Wind direction and strength [km/h]
4. Cloudy
5. Atmospheric pressure [hPa, mmHg]
The teacher asks a question:
What is climate?
How is weather different from climate?
With the help of the teacher, students discover the differences between weather and
climate, then write the definitions of both in their notebooks:
The teacher displays a graph of climate data for Warsaw on the interactive whiteboard.
Ask students to answer the following questions:
The work is collected and checked for a grade, and then handed over to the students in the
next lesson.
Students describe their climatic zones in the next lesson.
6. Calculate the average annual air temperature (don't forget to write down the unit):
