Grade 7
Duration: 1 hour
Principle of teaching: systematicity, conscious and active participation of students in the education
process.
Teaching aids: notebook, blocks, keys, force gauge, scale, ruler, measuring cup, worksheets.
Student is able:
• Explain what the term "density" means,
• Give the relationship between mass, volume and density d= m/V.
Aims:
General
introducing students to work harmoniously in a group,
developing perceptiveness and free expression of thoughts.
Indirect
After completing the classes, students will be able to:
determine the density of a substance experimentally,
use the relationship between mass, volume and density d= m/V to perform calculations,
find tables on the Internet containing the densities of various substances,
provide the name of a substance with a specific density.
Specific
Each student will know:
what is density,
calculate the density of a given substance,
read the name of the substance with the indicated density from the table.
Introductory phase:
1. Organizational activities.
2. A discussion about what the density of a substance shows us and a reminder of the density
formula.
3. Statement of the topic and objectives of the lesson.
Main phase:
4. Dividing the class into groups and reminding the rules of group work.
5. Discussing the course of activities, taking measurements and making calculations in groups.
6. Group work: students complete the tasks given in the worksheet.
7. Presentation of group results.
Summary phase:
Experiment
Objective: to determine the density of the substance from which a regular-shaped object and an irregular-
shaped object were made.

Density – gęstość
Substance - substancja
Mass – masa
Arithmetic average – średnia arytmetyczna
Volume – objętość
Self-assessment card:
Complete the sheet. Assess the level of your knowledge and skills by marking the appropriate boxes on the
sheet with an X, where: A - means "yes", B - means "probably yes", C - means "rather no", D - means "no".
Below the table there are fields where you can comment on your strengths and weaknesses - complete them.
