Visitor Car Parking

Where to park Visitor and local car parks

Visitors arriving at the University City Campus can use
the first-come first-served visitors car park adjacent to
the Richmond Building. This can be accessed from the
University entrance on Great Horton Road. Once in this
facility, a car parking permit must be displayed clearly
in your vehicle and can be obtained from the Richmond
Building reception on arrival. If this facility is full please
use one of the nearby car parks or parking available in
the local streets. Visitors to the School of Management
Campus can get a first-come first-served car parking
permit from the Heaton Mount or Emm Lane Reception.

The map opposite highlights the locations of other car

parks within easy reach of the City Campus. If parking
in the streets, please be respectful of local residents.

EDWARD ST

You can catch the Free City Bus which connects Bradford Travel
Interchange, Forster Square station and Centenary Square to the
Universitys City Campus. Alternatively, and especially if you have
luggage, you can take a taxi.

Walking
It only takes around 15 minutes to walk from the city centre, though
it is partly uphill! From the Travel Interchange walk down the hill
towards City Hall, then turn left past City Hall. From Forster Square
station, walk past the Fibres sculpture onto Cheapside, then
along Market Street towards City Hall. Walk through Centenary
Square and continue towards the Alhambra Theatre. Turn right up
Great Horton Road just before the Alhambra, and the Universitys
City Campus is about 300 metres up this hill just beyond the
College.

Cycling
We have showers and secure cycle storage on all our sites for the
use of cyclists. Please go to the main reception and ask to access
these facilities on your arrival to the site. Use the cycle journey
planner to work out your favoured route www.transportdirect.
info/Web2/JourneyPlanning/FindCycleInput.aspx

The School of Management is just over 2 miles from the city centre
and the 662 buses leave from the Travel Interchange at regular
intervals. From Forster Square station you can catch the 622,
623 625 and 626 buses which leave from Cheapside at regular
intervals. Alternatively you can take a taxi.

Disclaimer
Bradford city centre is being redeveloped
around Centenary Square so please
check www.wymetro.com for up-to-date
bus information
Current as at December 2011
1504/5,000/12/2011

Many internal and international flights can be also be made into

Manchester Airport which is about 50 miles/80 km south-west of
Bradford.

By Air
There are direct regular air services into Leeds/Bradford
International Airport (7 miles/11 km from the Universitys City
Campus) from various cities around the UK, Ireland and Europe.
From the Airport a half-hourly bus service operates into Bradford, or
alternatively taxis are usually available.

Many road signs on the major routes into the city have the route to
the University indicated by a mortarboard symbol.

By Car
Bradford is connected to the national motorway network via the
M62 and M606. If you are travelling from the south, east or west of
Bradford, you will probably find it most convenient to use the M62
and M606. If you are arriving from the north-west you will probably
use the A629/A650 via Skipton and Keighley. From the north-east
it is most convenient to use the A1 or A19, and reach Bradford via
the A59 and then the A658 south of Harrogate.

We want to make your visit to the University of Bradford as sustainable

as possible. Our sustainable business travel framework means we
encourage visitors to first question their need to physically travel to the
University. If travel is required we are very well connected to the public
transport networks so you shouldnt need to bring a car.
