By Rail

Leeds Railway station connects with all major UK cities and has regular services to a large number of
locations. For information on timetables visit the National Rail website: http://www.nationalrail.co.uk.

The campus is five minutes by taxi from the railway station. Alternatively, it is a pleasant twenty
minute walk following the directions below:

Come out of the station into City Square; with the Queen’s Hotel behind you, walk straight up Park
Row. Continue up Park Row until the first major junction at The Headrow. Turn right and walk along
The Headrow, past The Light shopping centre on your left. At the end of The Light centre turn left up
Woodhouse Lane. Follow this road up, passing Morrison’s supermarket on your right, Leeds
Metropolitan University on your left, and the Dry Dock boat pub on an island on your right. The
University campus begins in another 50 metres or so on your left. The Inter-Disciplinary Ethics
Applied Centre (image above) should now be visible ahead. Turn left after the bridge over the ring
road, down Fenton Street. Inter-Disciplinary Ethics Applied is at no. 8-12.

By Car
Suggested routes to Inter-Disciplinary Ethics Applied from major road networks:

From the south (M1 Motorway):


At junction 43 the M1 motorway splits. Take the right hand lanes and follow M621 Leeds centre. Exit
the M621 at junction 3 and follow signs for the city centre and universities. Pass under the railway
bridges keeping in the outside lane and enter City Square. Fork right following signs for the University
(passing the former Majestyks nightclub on your left). Turn right at next traffic lights into East Parade.
Travel up East Parade in the left hand lane, head straight across the Headrow into Calverley Street (the
Town Hall will be on your left). Continue past the Leeds General Infirmary (on your left) and turn right
immediately after the Civic Hall (on your right). Turn left at the next traffic lights to Woodhouse Lane.
After a few hundred yards, you will see Inter-Disciplinary Ethics Applied on a side street to your left
(Fenton Street), but in order to park, you should continue travelling up the main road (Woodhouse
Lane) for a few more hundred yards until you reach the main entrance to the University on your left,
immediately before the Parkinson Tower. The entrance to the University car park is next to here.

From the M62 Eastbound:


Exit M62 at junction 27 to the M621. Exit the M621 at junction 2 (signposted Harrogate, York and
Skipton) and after a few hundred yards you approach major roundabout. Take the first exit to city
centre and join the inner ring road. Take the exit signposted Skipton A660, which will bring you to
Woodhouse Lane. After a few hundred yards, you will see Inter-Disciplinary Ethics Applied on a side
street to your left (Fenton Street), but in order to park, you should continue travelling up the main
road (Woodhouse Lane) for a few more hundred yards until you reach the main entrance to the
University on your left, immediately before the Parkinson Tower. The entrance to the University car
park is next to here.

From the M62 Westbound:


Exit M62 at junction 29 to the M1 northbound. Continue from M1 directions above.

From the A1 Northbound:


Leave A1 (at exit to Ferrybridge Services) to join M62 westbound. Exit M62 at junction 29 to join M1
northbound. Continue from M1 directions above.

From the A1 Southbound and from York:


Leave the A1 taking the A64 towards Leeds and join the inner ring road (dual carriageway). Take the
exit signposted Skipton A660, which will bring you to Woodhouse Lane. After a few hundred yards,
you will see Inter-Disciplinary Ethics Applied on a side street to your left (Fenton Street), but in order
to park, you should continue travelling up the main road (Woodhouse Lane) for a few more hundred
yards until you reach the main entrance to the University on your left, immediately before the
Parkinson Tower. The entrance to the University car park is next to here.

From the A62 (Huddersfield) and A58 (Halifax):


Join the inner ring road. Take the exit signposted Skipton A660, which will bring you to Woodhouse
Lane. After a few hundred yards, you will see Inter-Disciplinary Ethics Applied on a side street to your
left (Fenton Street), but in order to park, you should continue travelling up the main road (Woodhouse
Lane) for a few more hundred yards until you reach the main entrance to the University on your left,
immediately before the Parkinson Tower. The entrance to the University car park is next to here.

From the A61 (Harrogate) & A58 (Wetherby):


Follow signs to university. At the Merrion Centre traffic lights, a right turn brings you to Woodhouse

left (Fenton Street), but in order to park, you should continue travelling up the main road (Woodhouse
Lane) for a few more hundred yards until you reach the main entrance to the University on your left,
immediately before the Parkinson Tower. The entrance to the University car park is next to here.

Car Parking
The visitors’ car park on the University Campus is accessed from the main entrance by the Parkinson
Building. Parking is free after 17.00. If you wish to park before 17.00, there is a charge of £5.00. If you
are coming to visit and would like a free space booked in advance, please let us know.
