Strategy Name: Acting out Strategy

Brief description (in your own words): Students in groups (based on class size) will be given a
specific event from the topic being learned. Students will then be given time to come up with
how they will act out the event to their fellow students. One modification is that you could turn
this into a charade style activity and have the fellow classmates attempt to guess what event the
students are acting out.

How you plan to use this strategy in your Practicum, Internship, Student Teaching, or in
your own classroom: Within my classroom, I could use this activity to cover events that led
up, occurred during, and followed, World War I. This activity helps students build a clear
picture of history and also shows the teacher if students are struggling to understand the
material or have a good understanding.
