Bailey Booth is a member of the Leading Change class originally from

Germantown, Maryland. She is a math major, secondary education minor, and in her free
time enjoys dancing and sleeping. Bailey never misses a step as part of McDaniels dance
team, and dance company. Her aspirations include being happy and becoming a more
well rounded person. Bailey is the proud owner of four cats, and her favorite colors are
gray and navy blue. Bailey is the co-author of the Effective and Ineffective Leaders
section of this blog.

Rebecca Debinski is from Skyesville, Maryland. She undecided on her major, but
she plans on minoring in elementary education. At McDaniel, she also participates in
InterVarsity, Cross Country, Indoor and Outdoor Track & Field, and Heroes Helping
Hopkins. Rebeccas goals are to impact the lives of others in a positive way by showing
them love, to graduate from McDaniel College with honors, and to work with children.
She enjoys skim boarding, running, reading, and eating pasta for breakfast with Milk
Chocolate Carnation Instant Breakfast. Rebecca was part of the Daily Habits of Effective
Leaders section of this blog.

Madison Gamble is the co-author of the Daily Habits of Effective leaders section
from Colora, Maryland. While she has yet to declare her major, Madisons goals include
visiting a third world country for a mission trip and working in a career that is crucial in
our world. On campus Madison is involved in FCA, Intervarsity, Fitness Buddies, and is
a member of the McDaniel Swim Team. In her free time, Madison enjoys reading,
running, being outdoors, community service, playing the cello, watching movies, and
being with friends and family.

Matthew Meagher, from Frederick Maryland, is the mathematics and computer


science major that is on the tech team, formatting this class blog. On campus, Matt is
actively involved in the ROTC program and on the wrestling team. His goal is to become
a commissioned officer in the United States Army. When not focusing on school, Matt
likes to go skiing, play Mario Kart, and go scouting. Matt also is a big fan of Mac and
Cheese.

Somer Meadath came to McDaniel from Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. She plans on


majoring in exercise science, in hopes of reaching her goal of becoming a physical
therapist. Somers interests include listening to music, playing and watching soccer, and
spending time with friends and family. On campus, she is involved in LEAD, as well as a
member of the womens soccer team. Somer was part of writing the introduction,
conclusion, and the bio page section of this blog.

Riley Palmer came from Nashville, Tennessee to attend McDaniel College and be
part of the Leading Change class. At McDaniel, she is planning on majoring in either
biology or criminology, while being part of intervarsity and the outdoor club. She enjoys
sewing, crocheting, woodworking, hiking, playing the violin, learning Korean, and
singing. Her goal is to simply survive finals. Riley chose to do an individual project on
introverted leaders.

Monica Patel is a member of the Leading Change class from Ellicott City,
Maryland. She enjoys music and writing, and is a part of McDaniels FreePress and
Yearbook. Monica plans on majoring in communications and journalism. Her goal is to
have people respect her and her work. More than anything, Monica loves concerts. She is
the co-author of the Griswold-Zepp Applications section of the blog.

Teryn Rath is the exercise science major all the way from Grass Valley, California.
As a member of the volleyball team, Teryn also enjoys reading, drawing, gardening, and
watching absurd amounts of Netflix. Her goal is to become an occupational therapist and
eventually settle down and raise a family. Teryn is the co-author of the Unlikely Leaders
section, and is also the oldest sibling in her family.

Phuc Trong traveled the whole way from Vietnam to be part of the Leading Change
class. He is planning on majoring in chemistry, biochemistry, or physics. His interests
include science, music, movies (especially Mean Girls), movies, Netflix (he watched it all
break), travelling, eating, and community service. At McDaniel, Phuc is involved in the
badminton club, Heroes Helping Hopkins, and Asian Community Coalition. His goals for
McDaniel are to get good grades, make good friends, and have the time of his life. Phuc
was part of the Effective vs. Ineffective Leaders portion of this blog.

Kristen Upton is a member of Leading Change class from Chalfont, Pennsylvania.


She was a co-writer of the introduction, conclusion, and bio page. Kristens goals include
become a pediatric cardiologist, and she is one her way to that goal being a biochemistry
and molecular biology major. On campus, Kristen is a member of the McDaniel
Womens Soccer team, as well as a member of Heroes Helping Hopkins, the LEAD
program, and the Rotoract club. When not focusing on school, Kristen loves reading,
photography, running, eating, sleeping, and being with friends and family. Kristen has the
unusual habit of sneezing three times in a row, and loves finding inspirational quotes on
Pinterest.

Tyler Van Dyke is a member of the Leading Change class. He originally is from
Biglerville, Pennsylvania and is majoring in English. His many interests include reading,
writing, music, and photography. On campus here at McDaniel, Tyler is involved in
yearbook, Heroes Helping Hopkins, Contrast Magazine, Lead, and The Writing Center.
Some fun facts about him are that he can name any Beatles song in three seconds and he
enjoys haikus. Tyler chose to do an independent project on whether everyone can be a
leader.
