    with the advent of multimedia messaging services there is virtually no difference between OSI layer
    for mobile communication and OSI layer for Data communication. All the layers namely
    physical,datalink,network,transport,session,presen tation and application layers are present in
    today's mobile communication
    Previously Moble communication OSI layers are Radio Transmission subsystem (physical), Datalink
    and network layer and all other higher layers are combiled into one single application layer.
    For example in GSM
    GSM Radio Transmission Subsystem (OSI Layer 1):
    Frequency Spectrum Allocation (GSM)
    Radio Channel Resource Sharing (TDMA and SFH)
    TDMA Time Slots, Frames, Multiframes, Superframes, and Hyperframes
