The Level 1 Award in Dance Leadership course is a free, week-long course offered in October 2014 and February 2015 that provides an introduction to dance leadership for those aged 13-19. The course teaches generic skills like leadership, organization, and communication through dance styles like hip hop, jazz, and salsa. The Level 1 Award in Dance Leadership course is a great introduction for those learners that are interested in dance. This course qualifies learners to assist dance sessions in the community under supervision. This nationally recognised qualification aims to teach generic skills such as leadership, organisation, planning, communication and teamwork through a medium of dance styles such as Hip Hop, Musical Theatre, Bhangra, Salsa and Jazz to name a few. Not only does this course develop knowledge of dance but also their confidence in leadership. All learners need is, a passion and interest in dance!
