Junior DanceSport

 Project Prodigy is our junior DanceSport program. DanceSport is a relatively new form of
dance in the U.S. and is becoming extremely popular among children and teens. It is a highly
sophisticated and demanding form of ballroom dancing. As witnessed in the documentary
film “Mad Hot Ballroom” children cultivate self-esteem, respect, coordination and other
healthy, life-enhancing skills through learning ballroom dance.

 Project Prodigy features dance fundamentals, musicality, strength and flexibility training.
This is an ideal program for providing young dancers with a strong foundation and
opportunities to perform, as well as compete. Starting at 3 years old, students will be taught
the six core American Style dances, including Tango, Foxtrot, Waltz, East Coast Swing, Cha
Cha, and Rumba.

 For our youngest students between ages 3 and 5 we have a class called Tippi Toes where we
use props and games to introduce our little ones to dance movement and creativity. The next
class called Twinkle Toes is for ages 5-7, we teach basic steps and starting infusing lesson
time with technique and styling. We make sure the students are ready for the next step up.
Both of these classes are 45 minutes long and are taught through the school year.

 The Next step is entering our DanceSport classes at age 7-8. The levels of DanceSport are
organized by a medalist system, Bronze, Silver and Gold. Bronze level is a beginner class and
is available to students who have never dancer as well as growing dancers. We split each
level in two separate classes: A smooth dance class that covers Waltz, Tango and Foxtrot and
a rhythm dance class that covers Cha Cha, Rumba, and East Coast Swing. These classes are
also 45 minutes long and run through the school year, roughly August to June.
