Everyone has started a new unit!!!

My 3rd/4th grade class is working so hard
and progressing fast! We are finishing up
interpreting data and graphs. Before the
break we are starting on the foundations
of multiplication and division. I think it
will be fun to see how they do with
division.

In health, with the younger grades we are

starting on the importance of being fit,
and exercising. We will start talking about
personal health and hygiene. My older class
is finishing up nutrition on a study of
different diets, learning the pros and cons
of each.

My older class keeps on wowing me every

day! We are starting on some hard topics,
from fractions to algebra. As a favor, I ask
to keep practicing basic concepts at home
with them, multiplication and division.

Science

We finished the quarter doing our biome

projects. We are now getting into Earth
science, and learning about rocks and
minerals. My goal by the end of the month
is to start on plate tectonics, and the
Earths layers.

Practice Skills
Taking Intiative
Think of initiative as recognizing and doing
what needs to be done before being asked.
Kids with initiative will take their talents
and multiply them, increasing their
involvement in life. Such children take
action without being asked to and readily
capitalize on opportunities that others
pass by.
Initiative is crucial for succeeding in
school. Students who start projects when
they're assigned and work diligently are
bound to do better than those who
procrastinate and wait until the last
minute to start working.
Initiative is a trait that will serve our kids
well all their lives. In the working world,
initiative is often what separates those
who get raises and promotions from those
who don't. So along with responsibility,
speak to your children about how this
would look in their lives.
