BSED-2B
ACT 5 (MODULE 15-17)

MODULE 15
1.Search on the recommended food guide for preschoolers or young children. Interview a
mother about what her preschooler eats in a week. Write down the types of food and compare
it with the recommended food guide.
The type of food was egg, fruit, vegetable, fish, meat and nuts, compare to the mother I
interview she said that her children only eat a limited amount if their dish is all
vegetables, they are more willing to eat if it contains meat, so the only thing she did to
not affect her children's health is to eat three times a week they only eat meat

2.Surf the net. Make a collection of gross motor and fine motor activities for preschoolers
that caregivers and teachers can use to support their development.
DEFENITION -Gross motor skills activities good for pre-schoolers because its
include arm, leg, head and core control. Parenting professionals can help children
develop gross motor skills by incorporating child-friendly opportunities
Fine motor skills activity is also good or nice practicing for the pre schoolers involve
careful control of the small muscles in your hands, feet, fingers and toes. Controlling the
muscles of the tongue and lips to speak and sing is also a fine motor skill. A childcare
professional can plan activities that help your child develop fine motor skills.

IMPORTANCE-Gross motor skills & Fine motor skills both gross and fine motor skills
are required for children to engage in creative activities such as dance and art. It is also
important for their health because children need to be active and exercise. It is
necessary for self-sufficiency, such as being able to go to the bathroom and dress
yourself.

ASSIGNMENT

Read any kind of research related to physical development of preschoolers’ and give your
own observations on the following
This information will enable you in understanding typical physical development in the
preschool years, or how kids hone their motor abilities. You will get knowledge of
developmental milestones and what to do if a child's development is causing you
concern.

MODULE 16
Activity:
1.Currently there is a controversy over whether young children should be allowed to testify in
court. Considering their memory functioning would you favor it? Explain your answer.
I am not aware of the controversy surrounding the testimony of young children in
court. This is routinely handled by assessing the child's ability to distinguish between
telling the truth and lying. A juror (or a judge in a bank case) can judge the integrity of
a child's testimony just like an adult. That is, they take into account factors such as the
individual's youth, whether they are being pressured to lie, whether they may have
memory problems, and so on. We do our high-quality to hold youngsters from having to
testify, particularly whilst they may be very young, now no longer due to the fact it's
far controversial, however due to the fact we fear approximately the strain at
the youngsters. But in the event that they have vital records that can not be in any other
case delivered forth, then we don't have any choice.
LEARNING ACTIVITIES:

a. Describe behaviors to illustrate the preschooler’s animism, egocentrism, centration,

lack of conservation
Preschooler’s Animism The belief that inanimate objects are capable of action and
have animate properties. Examples include a child who falls because he thinks the
sidewalk is crazy, or a child who has stars in the sky because he is happy. For an
imaginative child, a cup might be alive, a chair falling over and hitting a child's ankle is
despicable, and a toy is tired and should stay at home.
Egocentrism Early childhood refers to the tendency of young children to think that
everyone sees things the same way children do. In Piaget's classic experiment on
egocentrism, he showed children her three-dimensional model of a mountain and
explained what a puppet would see when looking at the mountain from another angle.
Children tend to choose images that represent their point of view rather than the doll's
point of view.
Centration The act of giving all one's attention to one feature or aspect of a situation
while ignoring all others
Lack of Conservation realising that something can have the same properties even if it
appears differently.
ASSIGNMENT
Read any kind of research related to cognitive development of preschoolers’ and give your
own observations on the following:
Results; Recommendations; React on each recommendation.
Based on the research I read this is what was stated in their recommendation
Language accessibility, cultural responsiveness, and affordability are what many
immigrant families miss out on this important experience. Recent changes in
immigration policy and enforcement have complicated this situation. However, new
evidence from four communities shows that policy makers and teachers continue to play
an important role in expanding access to pre-primary education for immigrant
children.
I think preschool education is very important for every family…. Preschool education is
one of the foundations of education. If you are building a house and the foundation is
not very strong, it may not last long.

MODULE 17
Activity:
1. The best caregiving style is the authoritative style. From all that you have learned
from this module, make a list of 10 qualities that an authoritative preschool
teacher should have. And among the 10 qualities, choose 1 why you listed that as
one of the qualities.

10 Qualities of a Good Preschool Teacher

When looking for a suitable kindergarten, it depends on the quality of the

teaching staff. In addition to her experience and educational background,
there are some outstanding qualities to look for in her preschool teacher.

Commitment to Education
Flexibility
Empathy
Organization
Patience
Cultural Sensitivity
Collaborative
Passion.
Creativity
Kindness
Among the ten qualities I choose collaborative because they have similarities
with the word communication You work to collaborative pay attention to the
communicators around you. Most important, you hear what isn't being said.
When communication is present, trust and respect follow.
No one plans on being mediocre; mediocrity happens when you don't plan. If you
want to succeed, learn the traits that will make you successful and plan on living
them out every day.Be humble and great. Courageous and determined. Faithful
and fearless. That is who you are, and who you have always been.

b. Observation of preschooler’s activity/ies

Observation in childcare involves being attuned to the child through listening
and watching as they play, learn and explore . During the observation
process, teachers and educators will be aware of the actions, expressions,
behaviours, and gestures of children.
ASSIGNMENT

Read any kind of research related to socio-emotional development of

preschoolers’ and give your own observations on the following:

According this research has long since established the benefits of social and emotional
development in preschool education. One study in Melbourne, Australia, found that
social-emotional development positively affected child development in preparatory
(preschool and kindergarten) and grade-one children.
Moreover, another study found that teachers who do not adequately utilize SEL tend to
experience more stress and are more likely to expel children. Therefore, we can see how
SEL benefits both the teacher and the child.
Equipped with this knowledge, pre-K schools must do everything possible to support
emotional-skills learning in children both at school and in the home. Through their
observations and guidance, pre-K educators can take the following actions:
Provides structure and routine for children
Encourage playfulness in students in the school environment
Encourage appropriate interaction between students
Set expectations for reasonable behavior and emotional expression
