To apply as a master class performer, please submit the following with your completed application form and
fees:
Performers:
All ages/levels are welcome to apply to perform in the masterclass on flute. A minimum of 4-5 years of study is
recommended. Our goal is to include 4 performers: 1 Butler student (for the host school); 2 performers 18
and over; and 1 performer under 18. The selected performers will be notified on or around February 7, 2015.
All applicants must join the Greater Indianapolis Flute Club.
Recording Guidelines:
Please submit an unedited CD of one piece of your choice on flute, 10 minutes maximum. Please name the piece
on the CD.
To maintain anonymity, please do not speak on the recording or list any identifying information on the case or
recording itself.
Piece of your choice may be recorded with or without accompaniment. However, if selected, you must supply an
accompanist for the masterclass if performing an accompanied work.
The decision of the judges is final. Recordings will be returned at the masterclass upon request.
Fees and Membership:
Application fees must be enclosed with the application and are non-refundable. All applicants must join the
Greater Indianapolis Flute Club (non-refundable). If selected as a performer, you must also pay a $55
masterclass performance fee. Please submit two checks with your application. Both checks should be made
payable to the Greater Indianapolis Flute Club.
Check #1: Masterclass Application of $30 + Greater Indianapolis Flute Club Membership Fee of $30
Check #2: Masterclass Performance Fee: $55, will be refunded if not a selected as a performer
Biographical information:
Please include a short biography of your experience in 200 words or less. Please include your age, year in school
(if applicable), musical experience, name of your teacher(s), and years of private study.
Repertoire:
In addition to the choice piece submitted on your recording, please list either two other works from the standard
repertoire, or one work and three orchestral excerpts, that you would like to perform for the masterclass.
Unless a conflict arises, the choice piece will be selected for the performance. Participants will be notified
which piece will be performed in the acceptance letter.
Late and/or incomplete applications will not be accepted.
