Dr. Bailey is Larson Professor of Flute and a member of the Moran Woodwind Quintet at the
University of Nebraska-Lincoln School of Music. He is principal flute with the Lincoln Symphony,
with which he has appeared as concerto soloist on numerous occasions. With the Moran Woodwind
Quintet he has toured throughout the Midwest and released a series of recordings on the Crystal label.
He has conducted the International Flute Orchestra on tour in various countries across Europe. He is a past president of the NFA, and
program chair for the Washington, D.C. convention in 2002.

Chamber Ensemble Coaching Information

Four ensembles will be chosen from the applicants. The ensemble may contain various instruments, but must contain at least one flute.
Performers must be in 9th grade or older and all flutists in the ensemble must be current members of the RFA. Performers must
prepare 10 minutes of music of their choice. The selection must be “performance-ready.”
Teachers’ signatures are required for applicants in high school to confirm the students’ high levels of preparation.

All applications must contain:

1. RFA Ensemble Coaching Application form.

2. Non-refundable application fee of $5. Those chosen to perform will be assessed an additional $35 fee per ensemble, RFA
Membership dues (flutists only) for 2010-2011*, and a Flute Fair registration fee (all performers)+.

* RFA Membership 2010-2011: Adults (over age 18) $20, students and seniors $10
+ Flute Fair 2010 Registration Fee: Adults (over age 18) $15, students and seniors $10, Non-Flutist $5.
