presentation will
compare Frank
Stronach and Bertha
Wilson. It will prove that
Frank was in fact the
greater Canadian and
had a greater impact.

WHO IS GREATER?
Frank Stronach

BERTHA WILSON

Became one of the most distinguished jurists.

She forced herself into the Dalhousie over the


dead and graduated with honours in 1957.

Got a job with Olser, Hoskins, and Harcourt which


was a blue-blood Bay Street firm.

Took full control of Magna International Ltd which


made him a millionaire later on.

Only women on the firm so she didnt get many


clients.

Operated 43 mostly Canadian plants and sold


nearly $500 million in car parts.

Became the lawyer's lawyer, she got paid to give


lawyers advice.

1995 Magna earned $300 million on sales of


about $5 billion.

1975 she was appointed to the Ontario Court of


Justice.

First women to move so high up in the province.

Opened a door for other women wanting to enter


this field of work.

Apprenticed as a tool-and-die maker, then went to


Switzerland and then Canada to be a machinist.

Late 1950s had his own shop.

Took advantage of the Autopact that created a


free-trade zone between Canada and the United
States for car-making.

He worked hard to get on top and thats exactly


where he ended.

Magna is a huge part of the Canadian automotive


sector.

Stronach without even realizing it opened more opportunities for people wanting to get
into machining and any other automotive job.

He took control of the business and it exploded.

This opened more jobs for everyone.

He took advantage of the Autopact that came into effect. By doing this it widened the
trading between Canada and the U.S which in turn widened the automotive business in
general.

By being able to order parts from outside Canada shops can get more business.

He also had companies in both the U.S and Canada which spread business.

His three major costumers were the Big Three American car-makers, o

Frank Stronach had a major impact not just on us as humans but


on the economy as well. Simply by just doing what he wanted to do
his impact was huge. He wanted to be a machinist and thats what
he did and by doing that he was able to make a name for himself
and get into a business that exploded with success. Magna is a
huge part of our Canadian automotive sector and it would not be
the same without it. He impacted our economy probably without
even knowing it would do so much.
He impacted the economy a great deal which makes him the
Greater Canadian.
