Ravisankar begins this article by stating the economic condition most of us are
probably in. The main problem identified are the harsh conditions that some workers are forced
to be subjected to and the low wages they receive. The purpose in this essay is to identify the
lowering standard of worker conditions, wages, and even the standard of living. Companys who
are largely working their employees for bare minimum are hugely frowned upon and employees
who endure them are recommended to form unions to stop this oppression. Overall this is all
very relevant to todays society and the solutions identified would most definitely be effective in
the long run.

Reflection: This entry was the first in my daybook on the topic of Sweatshop Oppression
which is the result of factories and industries taking advantage of workers and giving them poor
conditions to perform under as well as under pay them. I feel this entry shows my standing of
how I wrote at the beginning of the class, and helps to show that although I am not an
inexperienced writer it was the first thing I had written in a while.
