The main contrast of good and evil in Moby Dick is between

Captain Ahab and Moby Dick. Ahab serves as the bad and Moby
the good.

Captain Ahab

Moby Dick

The Pequod, and many other whaling ships served both as light and
darkness. The sailors aboard the vessel adopted it as their home, a
beacon of hope and goodness--making it their light. The darkness
amid the ship stemmed from the sailors malicious actions towards the
whales.

Good vs. Evil

What was done to extract the treasured oil from the sperm whales was
completely inhumane.
Regardless of the pain and suffering whalers caused, they had to
supply the high demand byproducts that resulted from the sperm
whalecandles, perfumes, soaps, machine oils, etc.

Darkness vs. Light

Captain Ahab

Captain Boomer

Boomer was humbled by his life threatening encounter with Moby Dick
and is happy to be alive where as Ahab is determined to satisfy his
undying pursuit to kill the sperm whaling at all costs.
