RONALD MCDONALD HOUSE CHARITIES PLAN $1MILLION HOUSE FORTHE

HIGH COUNTRY

BOONE, N.C. - Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) provides families

with housing while their child obtains medical treatment, and this year RMHC has chosen
Boone to be the next recipient of their famous housing facilities. The RMHC seeks $1
million for the 7,000 square foot home. This money is needed in order to construct and
furnish the new home. This fundraiser is set to begin Oct. 15, 2014, and conclude on Feb.
28, 2015.
The location of the home has yet to be determined; however, the structure will
house 10 families at a time. Kick-starting the fundraising efforts as a spokesman is
Mtley Cre member Vince Neil. Neil said, I am excited to be a spokesperson for a
cause that is near to my heart.
Neil, after having lost his four-year-old daughter to cancer, has been an advocate
and champion of fundraising for families and child patients who struggle from lifethreatening illnesses. When RMHC thought about a representative, it was clear that Neil
had every quality RMHC desired to have within a close member of their community.

may need to travel for care. RMHC makes it possible to keep families together during
difficult times.
