Final Narrative T1

Lennie ran towards the riverbed with such a feeling of fear that he was crying
as he ran. He burst out of the brush and slid into a couple of bushes. He breathed
heavily as he lay in the center of the bush, squirming violently as the leaves prickled
him. What am I going to do? Lennie thought to himself as he lay in the bush. What
will George do to me? Whats he going to say? All of these questions rumbled around
in his head. Then he heard the sound of feet slamming against the ground. From the
corner of his eye he saw the figure of a man standing and moving his head from side
to side. I wonder what hes looking for? Lennie asked himself. After a few seconds
Lennie realized that the man was actually George. He wiggled out of the bush and
stood up. George! Lennie exclaimed with joy. George turned around and saw
Lennie running towards him with his arms out wide. Before Lennie could squeeze
George like a pulp, he stopped him. Lennie this isnt the time for games. George
said with a voice as hard as iron. Curly and the men saw what you did to Curlys
wife and are now coming to kill you. George looked away from Lennie as he said the
final words. I thought that would happen George. Lennies face was not filled joy as
he said his words. Lennie I want to get away from this place George finally said
with a quivering voice. I dont want you to die! Georges eyes started to water with
emotion. We need to survive together Lennie, both of us. George gave Lennie a hug
as he cried. George lets leave together to go to our farm. Lennie finally reacted to
George meaningful words. None of you are going anywhere, exclaimed a voice
from the brush. Out came Curly with a grin of insanity on his face. He was carrying
his gun in his arms and his body language really showed that he wasnt afraid to use
it. George you get away from that criminal right now or Ill shoot you too! Curly
put his gun to his shoulders and started to aim his gun at Lennie. Curly please think
about this, Lennie didnt mean to kill your wife he was just scared! George

desperately told Curly. Scared? Curly almost whispered. Him getting scared killed
my wife! Curly yelled at George with rage. Curly readjusted his gun and pointed it at
Lennie and pulled the trigger. Just before Curly shot the gun, George leaped in front
of Lennie. A loud, explosive sound echoed through the trees. When Lennie finally
opened his eyes he found George lying on the floor limp and lifeless. George?!
Lennie stumbled down to Georges body. George! Lennie clenched his fists with
fury and despair. He died because of me! He said putting his hands over his head
trying to hide in despair. Then Lennie stood up. He glared at Curly with a look of
intense anger. Im gonna kill you! Lennie rushed toward Curly so quickly he didnt
have anytime to react. Lennie jabbed at Curlys stomach, stunning Curly. Im gonna
avenge him! Lennie punched Curly in the side of the head with so much force that
Curly sprawled on the floor. He grabbed Curlys neck and twisted. Curly fell out of
Lennies arms. Lennie felt like that the world was revolving around Im and he
toppled to the ground. After a couple hours passed by Slim, Candy, and Crooks came
running into the clearing where Lennie was laying. Their faces were gleaming with
sweat and they looked stunned as they looked through the clearing. They all walked
toward Lennie to check if he wasnt dead and found out that he was still breathing.
So Lennie finally snapped said Candy quietly as he looked around. What do you
think the reason for killing Curly was? Slim said with mixed emotions. Who
knows. Crooks silently said. Did George pass out too? Candy pointed toward the
body about ten feet away. Lets see. Slim face got a little redder after he heard what
Candy said. They all stood over Georges body with grim faces. Slim leaned down to
check his pulse. Hes gone. Slim couldnt make eye contact with the others without
fearing to break out in tears. Hows Lennie going to survive without him? I dont
know. Slim voice was more in control now. , But I feel like its my duty to take care
of him now. I feel the same. Candy agreed. Crooks walked back to Lennie and
tapped his shoulder. Lennie shuddered and opened is eyes. George? Lennie
squinted as he stared at Crooks. No its me Crooks. Lennie instantly became sad as
he remembered what happened to his friend. Lennie we want to get away from this
place with you said Slim with a voice full of sympathy. Ok Lennie said without

even thinking about George would want me to. Lennie seemed less depressed and
actually smiled as they walked down the road.
