What is ETLity
ETLity supports your work with INFORMATICA PowerCenter. ETLity can be used in
projects where similar ETL load concepts are applied to many targets.

ETLity is the fastest and most inexpensive approach for generating an arbitrary number
of similarly structured mappings. We will generate your mappings at a fixed price,
namely 10% to 20% of the originally proposed costs, depending on the complexity.

The ETLity methodology uses a simple workflow:
1. You create one example which represents your ETL logic.
2. We build a prototype based on your example and additional information.
3. We generate the requested files based on the prototype.

We will generate your Mapplets, Mappings, Sessions, Workflows, Parameter files and
SQL scripts.

Example of use

Let us look at the IMPORT part of your DWH project.
For 100 mappings, workflows, parameter files, and SQL scripts your experts estimate a
total effort of 150 days. At an average daily rate of $1,200 this part of your project will
cost you approximately $180,000 in five months. We can supply you with everything
you need to import into PowerCenter for 20% of the calculated costs (in this example for
$36,000) within less than five days.

Flexibility
ETLity supports an incremental and iterative approach, making subsequent
modifications possible. This makes ETLity extremely flexible.

Regular Expressions

ETLity does not need any regular expressions (RE). In general REs are not self-
explanatory and hard to maintain, in particular when taking into consideration how
many different kinds of them exist: shell RE, basic RE, extended RE, Perl RE, curl RE,
PCRE (to name but a few more commonly used ones)

FAQ
Is ETLity designed for a specific branch?

No. Whenever you work with Informatica PowerCenter you can make use of ETLity.

Can ETLity process large quantities of tables and columns?

Yes. ETLity is not restricted to any particular number of tables, columns, or any kind of
PowerCenter objects. In fact, ETLity is most profitable when used for large quantities of
tables and columns.

Where does the generator get the required information

from?

You can provide the necessary details e.g. via an Excel sheet (a sample file will be
provided on request) in a database-independent manner. No access to your actual
database instances is necessary.
