The problem that hit

people and
government in Indonesia can be said will
never be solved. Social problems, political,
economic, and even technology, all of
them are still continuing until now. There is
one interesting problem because these
problems have not resolved thoroughly; the
problem
about
the
increasing
unemployment. These concerns belong
to socio-economic problems.

Unemployment, is one of the biggest

problems in Indonesia
Unemployment sometimes causing the
bad effect to other people, and also
criminal
Unemployment problem in Indonesia is
interesting and useful to be learned

Unemployment is the condition of someone

whose experienced the barriers in their
effort
of
getting
their
own
work.
Unemployment
makes wasteful of
recourse and potential of human. In
addition, unemployment is also a family
burden and community and also a major
source of poverty that can obstruct the
national development in the long term.

Unemployment and underemployment problems

mentioned above one of which is influenced by
the
size
of
the
workforce.
Labor
force
in
Indonesia
in
2002
amounted
to100.8 million people. They are dominated by
labor force school age (15-24 years) as many
as
20.7
million.
On
the
other
hand, 45.33million people only elementary
education
down,
it
means
that
labor
force quality is still low in Indonesia

In addition, the other

effect unemployment and underemployment are
state employment. In 2002, the number
of people who work amounted
to 91.6 million people. Around 44.33 percent
of employment is in agriculture sector, which until
now has the level of productivity is still
low. Furthermore, 63.79 million of the available emp
loyment opportunities are informal status. Another
feature of the employment opportunities
Indonesia is the dominance
of secondary education graduates to
the bottom. This suggests that employment
opportunities are available for groups with low
education

The reason why the rate of unemployment

in Indonesian increasing is because of the
globalization that also become increase. This
problem is rampant from common people to
the poor one. Sometimes the unemployment is
causing the criminal. Why? Because, the
common people and also unemployment
have the same requirement. If the requirement
havent reached yet, the people would do
anything so they can reach what they want.
They will do anything to get their requirement.

To overcome the problem of unemployment the

government has made five policies .Among others:
1. Change the macro economic policy, in order to
stimulate economic growth which then
can create new jobs.
2. Making fiscal and monetary policies are
also friendly to labor.
3. The third policy, revive the real sector
activities especially those in the sector of small
and medium enterprises (SMEs).

4. Implementing reforms in the area of

land. During this land for production
activities, more dominated by a limited
circle a limited basis as well.
5. The fifth policy that specifically the
Department of Labour is currently being
madenow, says Pasaribu, redouble efforts
to increase manpower in the smallincomefamilies. This was done through
cooperation with a group of small and
medium entrepreneurs from Japan.
