WHAT IS BLIP TV?

It is a media platform for different web series and offers a
dashboard for producers of original web series. It provides the
viewing of high quality web series. They showcase independent
producers and they distribute them across the web. The
company was created in 2005, and is located in New York City
and Los Angeles.
Blips mission statement is To deliver the best original web
series to audiences across multiple platforms. The site
showcases a wide variety of dramas, comedies, arts, sports and

other shows.

It offers the audience with web drama with various genres e.g. drama, comedy, animation,
music and more.
It allows the public to leave their views and they encourage you to blog.
It offers a high quality standard as when a web series is uploaded to Blip TV it has to meet a
certain standard and reviewed.
You are able to access the shows at any time and anywhere, which means you dont have a
specific schedule on when you have to watch the show.
Can keep up to date with latest web series.
It is a free site which users wont have to pay to watch any show they want.

They dont have to wait for the next episode as all of the episodes within the series is
uploaded at the same time.

A disadvantage is that there is some controversy with blip TV, and
because of this the use of Blip has been blocked by Turkey and China.
Another disadvantage is that they were removing the work of some

producers who werent producing enough revenue.

Another disadvantage is that whilst watching the series there will be
advertisements and this may distract the viewer from watching their series.
Throughout the video they may have advertisements as short breaks

and therefore you wouldnt be able to watch the series without adverts.

ON THE WED DRAMA GENRE?
Netflix has been a large platform for the web drama genre, as it has allowed many shows to be
uploaded to their website and this allows the viewers to watch their web drama.
It has made the web drama genre more popular as many people know about Netflix and as it is well
known they can trust the site and trust the standard of quality of the web series.
Netflix have gained lots of income from this as the web drama genre is developing and is growing
larger.
They now have lots of web drama shows such as House Of Cards which has also become popular.
Due to Netflix being able to support web based dramas now people are more educated about what
web drama is and now will watch it more than they used to.
As you have to pay for a Netflix account this will generate sales for the web based drama and this
will mean they can keep on producing more shows and series and keep up the popularity of the genre.
