FEEL GOOD

Indian Railways which was started in India in 1853 from Bombay to Thane today has spread all over the
country making it the largest railway network system in the world. Indian railways is still the cheapest
mode of transportation making it most popular among the people. However, the people experience is
sometime on the negative side due to overcrowding, hygiene, and lack of facilities in railways. Indian
railways can improve its facility in many area . Few worth mentioning are

Advanced passenger coaches with modern facilities

Generally large distance train travel time is in the range 20 - 40 hours. Hence a passenger mostly make
a view on Indian Railways depending on the experiences made by him during the time spent in the
passenger coach.
This report is to propose a feasible solution to Indian Railways for changing the experience of passenger
from negative to Feel Good in the passenger coach . Currently catering services only provide snacks,
drink and meal to the passenger. The current proposal is to award train catering to firm which provides
the following assistance to the passengers of trains:

Snacks (fruits), drinks and meal


Integrated audio jack (radio, music tunes)
Wifi
Possibility of dining car and free boiled water

Multitasking crew members


The firm should provide multitasking crew members whose task wll be:
1. Welcoming passenger cum travelling ticket examiner
2. Caretaker - assisting in booking cab, first aid box handler, availability of a doctor on mobile,
assisting senior citizen in luggage handling
3. Technician checking the working condition of lights, fan, power sockets, audio jack, Wifi
4. Janitor (Cleaner) - cleaning the compartment and toilets

O f above mentioned facilities , Railways with IRCTC has already launched cab booking facility recently.
