MENTOR CONTRACT
2014-2015
Each
senior
student
should
choose
a
mentor
who
has
experience
with
the
students
project.
In
the
space
provided
below
is
a
description
of
this
students
project.
The
mentor
he/she
selects
should
have
an
area
of
expertise
related
to
this
project.
The
mentor
will
primarily
be
responsible
for
guiding
the
physical
product/fieldwork.
This
requires
each
student
to
complete
at
least
twenty
hours
working
on
a
project
that
benefits
others.
While
mentors
are
not
required
to
be
present
for
all
twenty
hours
of
fieldwork,
they
should
be
readily
available
to
advise
the
student,
answer
questions
and
check
on
the
progress
of
the
project.
Mentors
will
be
asked
to
verify
the
completion
of
these
hours
and
that
they
were
spent
in
service
to
the
project.
(A
good
rule
of
thumb
is,
if
you,
as
a
professional,
are
paid
to
do
X,
then
you
can
sign
off
on
X
as
project
time.)
Mentors
will
also
be
asked
to
participate
in
an
on-camera
interview
during
the
Fall
semester.
Students
will
interview
their
mentors
in
order
to
uncover
further
resources
and
gain
expertise
and
will
publish
the
interview
on
their
website
(E-Portfolio).
The
role
of
the
mentor
in
Project
SERVE
is
invaluable.
While
it
is
neither
overly
time
consuming
nor
arduous,
the
mentors
job
does,
however,
help
make
each
students
learning
more
focused,
productive
and
meaningful.
We
appreciate
your
important
involvement
in
our
program.
