Components:
Two Head Level Tanks
o To Compensate the Variations of the cooling water volume due to different
thermal loads and ambient temperature.
o To keep the pressure at the suction of the pumps constant.

2 Pneumatic On/Off Valves


o Normally open
o To control the head tanks level.
o To restore any water loss in the tanks.
o To supply DM water when a new user is placed into service after
maintenance.

(3 x 50 %) CCCW Pumps.
o Two in Duty, one stand by.

(3 x 50 %) CCCW Heat Exchangers.


o Two CCCW heat exchangers in duty, one stand by

2 Pneumatic Control Valves.


o One is operating and one is stand by.
o To re-circulate CCCW water back to the pumps suction headers.
o (Differential Pressure across CCCW circuit users)
o P is kept constant even if some users are out of service.
o To ensure constant water flow to the users.

Two Chemical Injection Pots


o Corrosion inhibitors
o Manually filled.
o The flow from the pots to the tanks due to P.

Stand by pump ON

(Plant emergency shut down)

Periodically coolers are to be interchanged and stand by cooler should be back washed
from seawater.
Incase of long shut down, flush and fill the cooler with potable water on seawater side, to
protect coolers from the effects of seawater stagnation.
CCCW is required to be in service all the time and may not be required to stop the system
unless the complete plant is under shut down.
