Components:
Two Head Level Tanks
o To Compensate the Variations of the cooling water volume due to different
thermal loads and ambient temperature.
o To keep the pressure at the suction of the pumps constant.
(3 x 50 %) CCCW Pumps.
o Two in Duty, one stand by.
Stand by pump ON
Stop all running pumps
(Plant emergency shut down)
Periodically coolers are to be interchanged and stand by cooler should be back washed
from seawater.
Incase of long shut down, flush and fill the cooler with potable water on seawater side, to
protect coolers from the effects of seawater stagnation.
CCCW is required to be in service all the time and may not be required to stop the system
unless the complete plant is under shut down.
