Project Description:
The Royal bank of Scotland is one of the retail banking subsidiaries of the The
Royal Bank of Scotland Group plc, and together with NatWest and Ulster, provides
banking facilities throughout the British Isles. The Royal Bank of Scotland has
around 700 branches, mainly in Scotland though there are branches in many larger
towns and cities throughout England and Wales. The Royal Bank of Scotland and its
parent, The Royal Bank of Scotland Group, are completely separate from the fellow
Edinburgh based bank, the Bank of Scotland, which pre-dates The Royal Bank of
Scotland by 32 years.
The VARS system exists as a discrete online and batch application. The online
application resides in the Back Office system and can be accessed via the Flexible
Loan menu in both Enquiry and Input modes. It currently possesses a number of
functions to enable users to display and / or update the Loan information for
accounts that exist on VARS.
However, these functions and the underlying VARS loan information are not
currently available to TTP or any other system. The purpose of this project is to
make some of the loan information that is stored on VARS accessible to other
systems via creating a new VARS function which will subsequently call the existing
VARS online functions to return the required VARS loan information.

Project Description:
Universal American Financial Corp. is a specialty health and life insurance holding
company, with an emphasis on providing a broad array of health insurance and
managed care products and services to the growing senior population.
The need of the project is to provide maintenance and support to CK4 and Claim
application. CK4 is the primary insurance administration system whereas Claims
deals with Claim administration for UAFC and caters to Life, Annuities, Health, and
LTC lines of business of UAFC. CK4 and Claim System is setup on a mainframe
machine on the MVS platform. The development tool, language for CK4 is COBOL,
VSAM, CICS and JCL. This project is for the providing maintenance to the CK4 and
Claim application. The work involves Production batch cycle support Activities,
analyzing business requirements, developing technical specifications, writing new
programs, modifications to the existing ones, testing and deployment of the tested
programs in model and production environments. .
I, as a member of team member, was involved in analyzing the Business
requirements, preparing the Technical specification documents, coding and
debugging of production and test environment problems.

Project Description:
During the Y2K conversion project, 1921 was decided as the Pivot year to identify
the century value. If the two-digit year is less than 21, it is then considered the
21st century. Otherwise, the year is considered 20th century. A few Y2K date
format conversion modules were created and dynamically called from programs
where this processing was needed. In addition, this pivot year is hard coded in
many of the mainframe applications and it has to be increased to a higher value
before 2021 in order for the applications to function properly.
