Dear Students and Parents,

Materials

Welcome to Plane Geometry. I'm very excited to be working with you and your child and
look forward to all of the opportunities that this year will hold. I would also like to take this
moment to introduce you to the classroom curriculum, procedures, and expectations. Once
you have read these documents I believe that we will have a mutual understanding of what is
expected from your son/daughter.

The following materials

are required for this
class, will keep you
organized, and will make
all our lives much easier!!

In order to help your children to be successful, please review the class

website frequently (http://mssabo.weebly.com) as well as our textbook
website (http://nexuslearning.net/books/ML-Geometry/default.htm).
These resources will aid you in assisting your child in their geometric
endeavors.

Please make sure to

have these materials
with you in class on a
daily basis:

I look forward to meeting with each and every one of you at Back-To-School

settings and problems.

We will be using
McDougal Littells

Edition.
This course is designed
to develop logical
thinking through the

Homework
Homework is graded on a completion basis and is worth 10 points for each assignment, as
long as there is evidence of effort. Late homework is accepted up until the day of the
current section's quiz, for half credit.
Please remember that homework is the practice that the students need in order to
effectively learn the concepts presented in class. Students who complete their homework
also tend to do better on their quizzes and tests, because they have had the practice!

Tests and Quizzes

Missed tests and quizzes due to absence must be made up in a timely fashion.
Students will be given an opportunity to retake a quiz if they make an appointment
with me outside of school hours or taken during their resource period.
Students will not be allowed to retake a test.

Attendance

The number of days you miss class = the number of days you are allowed to make
up any assignment that is due plus one additional day.
It is your responsibility to make up any notes, tests, quizzes, or homework that you
have missed. Check your class folder for an absent work summary page.
All outstanding work such as; tests and quizzes, are due by the end of each quarter in
order to receive credit.
