Information
Materials

water, Gatorade, lemonade, apple juice,


baking soda, cups, spoons.

Procedure
1. After putting on safety goggles
(lemon juice in the eyes would sting),
pour water, apple juice, Gatorade,
and lemonade into separate cups. Fill
each cup halfway.
2. Stir in one teaspoon of baking
soda into water.
3. Observe what happens.
4. Repeat step 2 for apple juice,
Gatorade, and lemonade (Figure 4).

Use a clean spoon each time.

5. Explain and record what you see.
