Being Progressive As the class moves towards past reconstruction and towards the Gilded Age I have a class project planned. In order for them to truly understand the ways in which their predecessors struggled, I plan to give them the task of creating a newspaper clipping detailing one of the big wigs of the era.
COME VIEW CLASS
PRESENTATIONS Beginning the start of next week we will begin presentations over who the children selected as their topic for their project. BLACK HISTORY MONTH In honor of this month being black history month, we will be going over some prominent African Americans of this era. We will also study some of the great African American inventors of this time as well as some of the crowning achievements of African American soldiers during the Revolution.
Homework as well as class work is equally
important in my class. It is vital that the children do all of their work to achieve great grades!
WHAT IS HAPPENING IN CLASS
We have just finished the American Revolution and will soon be diving into the rebuilding process in the Reconstruction era. Then, upon completion of Reconstruction, we will see history take us into western expansion. The class will see how the use of railroads wrought about production changes for the Americas. We will also see how the American Indian population at this time was treated and how the United States government tricked them so that we may acquire their lands.
