Meet the Student Teacher

To my new students and their families:
I am so excited to meet each and every one of you and to begin

my student teaching journey in Mrs. Fosters 3 grade class! I have

been working on my Masters of Science in Teaching degree from Drake
University for the past 2 years. Before my time at Drake, I attended
the University of Northern Iowa and received a Bachelor of Music
Degree in Vocal performance in 2011, before taking a year off to figure
out what I wanted to be when I grew up: a teacher!

In my spare time, I teach theater classes for children at the Des

Moines Playhouse where I myself took many classes as a student. I also
teach voice lessons and love to sing all kinds of music (hopefully Ill get to
work some singing into our lessons in class!). My favorite movies are
Disney movies, my favorite food is my Grannys mashed potatoes, and
my favorite animal is a giraffe. I hope to learn about each of you as
individuals and hear all about your favorite things as well!
During my time as a student teacher, I will observe and learn
about classroom routines, gradually take more and more responsibility,
and finally take over teaching full time for a few weeks. I will be at
Phillips Elementary from January 26 to March 13, 2015. I promise to
work my very hardest to ensure my students continue to receive the
best education possible while under my care and supervision. If you ever
