Epson L800 FirmWare update instructions

1. Preparation
- PC (Windows2000/XP/7)
- IPL_USBSender.exe (Tool)
- Update file : FWA965TL.dat

2. Procedures
1) Start the printer in firmware update mode.
(Printer)
- Press Paper, Ink and Power buttons at the same time.
- Contitue pressing them more than 8 seconds.
--> All LEDs light as below.

(PC)
If New hardware detection wizard appears,
Click<Cancel>.

2) Send ROM data

(PC)
Start IPL_USBSender.exe
->Click <1st ROM File>button, and select
FWA965TL.dat.
->Click <Transmit>

(Printer)
Paper LED is turned off.

(Printer)
While erasing ROM date, LEDs blink by the following order.

(Printer)
While writing ROM date, LEDs blink by the following order.

(Printer)
While verifying ROM date, all LEDs light as below.

(Printer)
When update is completed, all LEDs blink by 5 cycles per second.

3) Turn off the printer

Turn off the printer by pressing Ink and Paper buttons.

<Caution>
If LEDs blink by the following order, FW has not been updated correctly.
Please try again after turning off the printer by pressing Power button.

<How to confirm the version of the FW>

The version of the FW is printed with nozzle check pattern. Please confirm it by the following
procedures.
(Printer)
- Turn off the printer.
- Hold down Paper button and press Power button to turn on the printer.
- When the printer is turned on, release both buttons.
--> The printer begins to print the nozzle check pattern.
