Trenkle Book Report Due: March 20, 2015

As part of our never-ending quest to be better readers and writers, we will


engage in a free-reading project this semester. You will spend time in class
silently reading a book of your choice. Along with reading the book, you will
have supplemental activities that will go along with the report.
Listed below are the book report requirements:
The book needs to be:

at least 300 pages


a book you have never read before
a book you are not currently reading

Please ask me if you have any questions.


Your responsibilities are simple:
1. Read your book each day
2. Present your book report March 20, 2015
There are four levels of activities:

SILVER=7
GOLD =8
PLATINUM=9
creative
DIAMOND=10
creative

RUBRIC
5- Meets all criteria, creative, thoughtful
4- Meets most criteria, somewhat
3- Meets some of the criteria, somewhat
2- Meets little of the criteria, not creative
1- Minimally meets the criteria

Your presentation and project will be 50 points.


A=45-50

B=40=44 C=35-39

D=30-34

Take the point system above:

Whatever level you pick, you will multiply it by the rubric amount
Example: Silver=7x5=35
Do you notice it does not =50 points? Therefore, you may add points
by adding another project:
Levels with one project:
Levels with two projects:
Silver=7x5=35
Silver=7x5=35=5=40
Gold=8x5=40
Gold=8x5=40=5=50
Platinum=9x5=45
Platinum=9x5=45=5=50
Diamond=10x5=50
Diamond=10x5=50

Notice you only have to do 1 diamond project to get full credit. However,
whichever activity you choose there is a possibility of adding points.
