To: INTERNATIONAL ORGANIZATIONS AND DIPLOMATIC MISSIONS LOCATED IN THE REPUBLIC

OF ARMENIA

OPEN LETTER

Hereby we note that besides the restrictions on basic human freedoms of assembly
and expression, endorsed by the amendments to the Law on Conducting Meetings,
Assemblies, Rallies and Demonstrations, the constitutional rights of the citizens
of Armenia are further restricted by private organizations that chase the anti-
democratic policies of the country's authorities.

During the last month several youth organizations and groups intending to organize
discussions on the current situation in the country have been rejected for venues
by Marriott Armenia Hotel, Congress Hotel, Ani Plaza Hotel and AUA Business Center
without any reasonable justifications. Such trends do create insurmountable
barriers for citizens of Armenia to exercise their basic human rights and
freedoms.

Once again we are forced to apply to the assistance of international organizations

and missions to resolve our problem.

We would appreciate if you could allocate the conference room in the buildings of
your organizations to the Armenian citizens for peaceful gatherings, discussions
of problems and identification of solutions to overcome the dictatorship in
Armenia.
