Poster Sample Guidelines

African American Research and February Poster Project

Research on: _______________________________________
Assignment: Gather research on your African American that covers the
topics below we will do research in class as well. Printing out colored pictures
at home is best as at school we have limited use of printing in color.
1. Dates of birth and death (if applicable)
2. Place of birth, where he/she spent most of their life
3. Childhood facts/schooling (college?)
4. Personal life (marriage, children, pets, famous relatives, etc.)
5. Information on their life as a famous person
6. What job did they have (prior to being famous)
7. What made them famous or lead to them becoming famous
8. Interesting little known facts about him/her (3-4 facts)
9. Large picture of your person and family (5X7)

Your child will need to memorize, some facts about the person they are
researching and then dress up like them (as best they can) and participate in
the Living Wax Museum on Feb. 26.
