Gas
Air is a
gas. You
can feel
gases. For
example,
you can
feel air
when the
wind
blows. You
cannot see
or hold air.

Steam is a
gas. Steam
expands
freely into the
air. You
cannot hold
steam, but
you can see

Helium is a gas.
Helium is
lighter than air.
When helium is
put in a balloon, it
will cause the
balloon to rise in
the sky. You
cannot see or
hold helium.

You can see rain,
but it will fall

Milk is a
liquid. You
can see milk.

Change of
Matter

Matter can change from being a liquid

to a solid to a gas.
Lets take a look at water Click the
water!

Water can change from

liquid to solid when

LIQUID
WATER

SOLID
WATER

Water can go back to liquid when

heated. When water boils it creates
steam,

SOLID
WATER
(ICE)

LIQUID
WATER

STEAM (GAS)
