Physical Abuse
Physical abuse often falls on
weaker people for that reason
children are receiving more
physical abuse which is better
known as child abuse

What is the child abuse?


It

is called child abuse to any


action (physical, sexual or
emotional) is not accidental in
the treatment of a minor, by
their parents or carers who
inflicts physical or
psychological harm and
threatening their personal
development.

Types
Five basic types of child maltreatment are distinguished:
Physical abuse
Is any way to hit shake pushing burn or other injury to the body
Sexual abuse
Is any sexual activity between two or more persons without the consent
of a person
Emotional abuse
Such abuse includes attitudes, actions and words as insults, gestures
abuse another person.
Physical neglect
Failure to provide food or abandon the child in the street
Emotional neglect.
Lack of adequate supervision or not paying child care

CAUSES
Physical abuse usually occurs at times of great stress, but the
biggest factors that influence child abuse are:

Alcoholism.
Domestic violence.
Addiction.
Being a single parent.
Lack of education.
Poverty.
The cases of child abuse in all classes

Primary Prevention
Primary Prevention: Aimed at the general population in order to
avoid the presence of risk factors and enhance protective factors
of child abuse.
Include:
Intervening in schools for parents, promoting values of esteem
for children, women and parenthood.
Preventing unwanted pregnancies through sex education in
schools
Replace physical punishment for punishment in their behavior.
Identify the values and strengths of parents, reinforcing their
self-esteem.

Secondary Prevention
Secondary Prevention: Aimed at the population at risk in order to
make an early diagnosis and prompt treatment
Include:
Recognize situations of child abuse, establishing treatment
strategies.
Recognize situations of domestic violence or abuse of women and
seek solutions.
Recognize parental behaviors of physical or emotional abuse
Referral to mental health centers parents addicted to alcohol and
drugs.

Tertiary Prevention
Tertiary Prevention: consists of the
rehabilitation of child abuse, both for child
victims and abusers.
Through pediatricians, psychiatrists,
psychologists, social workers, family
counselors, etc.).
CHILD ABUSE IS A PROBLEM OF ALL.

CONCLUSION
The

physically abused children are more


aggressive with other children and have
high rates of hostile behavior, such as
kicking, screaming, are destructive and
misconduct.
