Students Role
The students role in project work is by far the
biggest role when it comes to the idea as a whole.
Students basically decide how they will work on
their learning and how they will work together to
create an environment that matches their topic.
They collaborate with their peers on the things
they will do during the project. The students
interaction with one another help to create a
community of facilitators to better learn their
chosen topic.

Teachers Role
The teachers are the main facilitators. They oversee what
the students are deciding to do and create the
provocation for learning. They authenticate the learning
experience that is at hand while believing in the students
ability to learn from it. The teachers will often create a
curriculum map that will help guide the students in their
learning. This also helps bring in resources for discovery
throughout the project. The teachers are the biggest
supporters throughout the duration of the project, which
could be a few days or a few weeks.

Students documentation of their work often lies throughout the duration of their chosen project. In some cases they keep
journals that allow the students to reflect on their findings on any specific day and in other creative cases they may keep
a blog together as a class. Documentation is done in any way the students choose to do it. Pictures are frequently taken
by the teacher to show what exactly they have been doing and how they have been learning. They may even use this
documentation to spark further inquiry which could lead to another project in the near future about another topic.
Ultimately, the students documentation is the create an enduring understanding for them as a community of learners.

Assessment
Assessment during a project is done using the students documentation and also
by bringing in others to be a part of the final days of their project. The students
may opt to invite other classrooms, members of their family or even their outside
community to come into the classroom and see what they have been working on
and learning about. Other groups of students may decide to make a bulletin
board displaying what they have been doing in their classroom. This is also
another way for students to display their enthusiasm and excitement for a topic
to their peers and share their knowledge in an interactive way.
