ANNOTATED BIBLIOGRAPHY
Second Term

Richard Peck Through a Brief Darkness - New York Published 1973 - 142
pages.
When I first started reading this book I didnt know whether it was
worth finishing the book. As I kept reading I had many questions. Most of
them asking why this, why that. Like why was Karen moving to London? Why
couldnt she see her father? Why was Ms. Simon and Karens father all of a
sudden not to be contacted? These were questions that kind of kept me
reading more and more of this book. As I got closer to the end of the book,
lots of my questions were answered. I was worried that the ending of the
book would not be a good ending but the ending ended well. I would
definitely recommend this book to other readers.

Dave Pelzer A Child Called It (one childs courage to survive) Deerfield

Beach, Florida Published 1993 174 pages
Reading this book, it felt like my heart just dropped. This is one of the
most incredible, saddest, phenomenal books I have ever read. When I first
started reading this book, I couldnt stop. It was just so sad reading about
this poor little boy being treated like an unwanted animal. It really made me
hate the mother and start turning on the father. I felt so bad for this little boy
and I just cried reading this book. I absolutely love love love this book and I
would read it again. It is so cruel reading about what this little boy has gone
through and how he got through it. Oh this book is one I would tell others to
read.

Third Term
Cynthia Voigt The Callender Paper New York Published 1983 182 pages
To be honest, I really didnt want to finish this book once I started. The
beginning is really slow and I wanted to switch books. As I kept reading
though, I started getting more and more interested. By the time I got to the
middle of the book, I couldnt stop reading. I wanted to know what was going
to happen to the Callender family and why the father kept acting weird. This
book is a mystery book and I love mystery books because they get me
thinking more while reading the book. This book kept me trying to figure out
what was going to happen before it happened and I loved this book because
it kept me interested. I would definitely read this book again.

V.C. Andrews Petals on the Wind U.S. Published 1980 373 pages
I love love love this book. This book is the second book to the sequel
flowers in the attic. I didnt read the first book but I watched the movie and
when I got the second book which is this book, I couldnt stop reading when I
began. This book is a romance, drama, and exciting book and I love those
kinds of books. It shocks you a little bit too when you learn about the family
and their secrets and it makes you want to read more and find out what
happens to them. I would definitely re-read this book and I cant wait for the
movie to come out.

Fourth Term

Simone Elkeles Perfect Chemistry New York Published 2008 326 pages
In all honesty, this is my favorite book or one of many of my favorites. Its a
trilogy and this is the first of the three. This book is about a boy who grew up around
gang bangers, and drugs. He meets this girl Brittany who has a perfect life. They
end up being chemistry partners and instantly they hate each other. As they spend
more time together they start getting feelings but with their social statuses, theyre
supposed to stay away from each other. What I am writing doesnt give this book
any justice. This is an amazing book that I will tell anyone to read. I would also
recommend reading the 2nd and 3rd.

Paula Danziger The Cat Ate My Gymsuit New York Published 1974 119 Pages
This book is a good book. Its about this girl who is in seventh grade and is
having family and school problems. I like this book because I feel like I can relate to
the girl. At school she gets this English teacher who helps her come out of her shell
and be more social. Also helps her become a better person for her and her family. I
honestly thought I wouldnt like this book because of the title but dont judge a book
by its cover. Its honestly a great book.

Chinua Achebe - Things fall apart USA Published 1959 209 Pages
This book really surprised the hell out of me. I thought I wouldnt be able to
finish and read and understand it because I honestly thought it sounded boring.
When we first started reading I was like okay the book is okay. Then I started
understanding things about African culture and religion and I really got me
interested. This book is not one of my favorites but it gets you thinking about life
and different cultures and that we have some of the same beliefs and stories kind
of. All in all, this was a good book.
